When your phone system is connected to MoveRight, every inbound call creates an opportunity automatically. You get call recordings, transcripts, and the AI can respond to missed calls instantly. Without the integration, you’re manually entering every lead from phone calls — and missing after-hours callers entirely.
What this covers
How to connect a phone system to MoveRight and configure call handling.
Who uses this
Owners — you set up the integration. This is a one-time config.
Supported phone systems
MoveRight integrates with:
| System | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Dialpad | Full integration | Recommended. Easy setup, good value, MoveRight native support. |
| RingCentral | Full integration | Feature-rich, more expensive. Good for larger teams. |
| Talkdesk | Full integration | Enterprise-grade. Overkill for most moving companies. |
| Twilio | API integration | For custom setups. Requires developer support. |
| Other VoIP | Partial (via forwarding) | Any system can forward calls, but you lose the automatic opportunity creation. |
Recommendation: If you don’t have a phone system yet, start with Dialpad. It’s the easiest to connect and MoveRight has native support for it.
Setting up Dialpad
Step 1: Connect in MoveRight
- Go to Settings → Integrations → Phone
- Select Dialpad
- Click Connect
- Log in to your Dialpad account and authorize MoveRight
- Verify the connection shows “Connected”
Step 2: Configure call handling
In MoveRight’s phone integration settings:
| Setting | What to set |
|---|---|
| Auto-create opportunity | On — every inbound call creates a lead |
| Call recording | On — recordings attach to the opportunity |
| After-hours handling | AI auto-text — MoveRight responds to missed calls |
| SMS forwarding | On — text messages from the business number appear in MoveRight |
| Voicemail transcription | On — transcriptions attach to the opportunity |
Step 3: Set your business hours
Go to Settings → Company → Business Hours. Set your operating hours (e.g., 8 AM – 6 PM, Monday–Saturday). Callers outside these hours get your voicemail + AI auto-text.
Step 4: Test
Call your business number from a personal phone. Verify:
- The call rings through
- An opportunity is created in MoveRight
- The call recording and transcription appear in the opportunity
Setting up other systems
For RingCentral and Talkdesk, the process is similar — connect through MoveRight’s integration settings and authorize.
For other VoIP systems, you can forward calls to a MoveRight-provided tracking number. This gives you call tracking and opportunity creation, but you lose some advanced features (like SMS forwarding and direct transcript integration).
What the integration does
Inbound calls
- Every call creates (or updates) an opportunity
- Missed calls trigger the AI auto-text within 2 minutes
- Call recordings and transcripts are attached to the opportunity
- The caller’s phone number is auto-populated
Outbound calls
- If you call from the MoveRight interface, the call is logged automatically
- If you call from your phone (using the Dialpad app), the call logs if you dial from the contact in MoveRight
SMS messages
- Texts to/from your business number sync to MoveRight’s communication log
- You see the full conversation thread in the opportunity view
Common questions
Do I need to port my existing phone number? You can either port your number to Dialpad or get a new number. Porting takes 1-2 weeks. If you’re in a hurry, get a temporary new number and forward your old number to it until the port completes.
What if I already have a phone system I like? If it’s supported (Dialpad, RingCentral, Talkdesk), just connect it. If it’s not, you can use call forwarding to a MoveRight tracking number as a partial solution.
How much does Dialpad cost? Dialpad pricing starts at around $15-25 per user per month. Check their current pricing at dialpad.com — MoveRight customers sometimes get a referral discount.
