Using the Drag-and-Drop Dispatch Board

Assign crews and trucks to jobs visually — drag, drop, done. MoveRight shows availability, prevents double-booking, and auto-texts your crew.

For: DispatcherOwner / OperatorCrew Lead

The dispatch board is where your day comes together. It shows every job, every crew member, and every truck in one view. Assign a crew to a job by dragging their name onto it. Done.

What this covers

This guide covers the dispatch board — the visual tool for assigning crews and trucks to jobs.

Who uses this

Dispatchers use this daily. Owners use it to maintain visibility. Crew leads check it to see their assignments.

Opening the dispatch board

From the MoveRight dashboard, click Dispatch in the main navigation. The board loads with today’s date by default. Switch days using the date picker or scroll to a different week.

Board layout

The board has three panels:

PanelWhat it shows
JobsToday’s booked jobs with time, address, and status
CrewAvailable crew members with their skills and assignments
TrucksAvailable trucks with capacity and current assignment

Jobs that need crew or truck assignments are highlighted with a yellow border. Fully assigned jobs have a green border. Overdue or problematic jobs show a red border.

Assigning a crew

  1. Find the job on the left panel
  2. Find available crew members on the center panel
  3. Drag the crew member’s name onto the job card
  4. MoveRight shows a green checkmark if they’re available at that time, or a red warning if there’s a conflict

You can also click the job and select crew from the Assign Crew dropdown.

Double-booking prevention

MoveRight won’t let you assign the same crew member to two overlapping jobs. If you try, you’ll see a conflict warning with both job details so you can choose which one to prioritize.

Assigning a truck

Same drag-and-drop approach — drag a truck from the right panel onto the job card.

MoveRight checks:

  • Is the truck already assigned to another job at that time?
  • Is the truck capacity appropriate for the job size?

If a truck is double-booked, you get a warning before the assignment goes through.

Filtering

Use the filters at the top of the board to narrow your view:

  • By crew member — see all jobs assigned to a specific person
  • By truck — see all jobs for a specific truck
  • By status — show only unassigned, partially assigned, or fully assigned jobs
  • By capability — show only crew with specific skills (CDL, piano moving, etc.)

Making changes

Need to reassign a crew member or swap trucks?

  1. Click the job card
  2. Remove the current assignment
  3. Drag the new crew member or truck onto the card

When you make a change, MoveRight automatically:

  • Sends a text to the removed crew member: “You’ve been reassigned from [job]. Check your schedule for updates.”
  • Sends a text to the new crew member with full job details

Revenue dashboard

The bottom of the dispatch board shows a revenue summary for the current view:

  • Total revenue for today (or the selected date range)
  • Number of jobs dispatched
  • Average revenue per job

This updates in real time as you assign crews and confirm bookings.

Mobile access

The dispatch board works on mobile. If you’re away from your desk, open MoveRight on your phone to:

  • View today’s schedule
  • Make quick crew reassignments
  • See job details and access notes

The mobile view is simplified — it shows jobs in a list rather than the full drag-and-drop board. For complex scheduling, a desktop is still better.
