This guide walks you through a complete job in MoveRight — from the moment a lead calls in to the moment you record the final payment. Once you see the whole picture, the individual guides for each step will make a lot more sense.
What this covers
You’ll see how a single move flows through MoveRight:
Lead → Opportunity → Estimate → Sign → Deposit → Book → Invoice → Payment
That’s every job. Every time.
Who uses this
This guide is for owners and sales agents who are new to MoveRight. If you’ve used other moving software before, this shows you how MoveRight is different. If you haven’t, this is your roadmap.
The scenario
A customer named Sarah calls at 6:47 PM on a Wednesday. She’s moving from a 3-bedroom house in Chicago to a condo in Naperville. She needs to move in 3 weeks. Here’s what happens.
Step 1: The lead comes in
Sarah’s call rings through your connected phone system. If you’re at your desk, you answer. If it’s after hours, MoveRight’s AI sends her an automatic text within 2 minutes:
“Hi Sarah, this is [Your Company]. Thanks for reaching out! We’ll review your details and get back to you first thing in the morning. — [Your Name]”
Whether you answer live or the AI handles it, a new opportunity is created in MoveRight with Sarah’s name, phone number, and a note about the call.

Step 2: You follow up
The next morning, Sarah’s opportunity is in your callback queue — a prioritized list of leads that need follow-up. You call her, confirm her move details, and discuss pricing.
For a 3-bedroom local move like Sarah’s, you can usually price it right on the phone using the estimate builder.

Step 3: You build and send the estimate
While Sarah is on the phone (or right after), you open her opportunity and click Create Estimate.
You add line items:
- 3-person crew for 6 hours
- Truck fee
- Stair surcharge (her condo has 2 flights)
- Packing materials for kitchen and artwork
Click Send Estimate. Sarah gets an SMS and email with a link to her branded quote.
See: How to Create an Estimate
Step 4: Sarah reviews and signs
Sarah opens the estimate on her phone. She sees every line item clearly. She scrolls to the bottom, draws her signature, and taps Accept.
You get a notification instantly. Her opportunity stage moves to Signed / Deposit Required.
The whole thing takes her under 60 seconds.
Step 5: Deposit collected
You send Sarah a secure payment link for a $150 deposit. She enters her card and pays in 30 seconds. The deposit is recorded on the opportunity.
MoveRight sends her a confirmation: “Your deposit of $150 has been received. You’re confirmed for Saturday, May 3.”
Deposits reduce no-shows by 60-80%. Always collect one.
Step 6: Book the move
With a signed estimate and deposit in hand, you click Book Move. You:
- Confirm the move date and crew arrival time
- Assign a 3-person crew (MoveRight shows who’s available)
- Assign a truck
- Add access notes — “condo has 2 flights of stairs, parking on the east side”
Click Confirm Booking. MoveRight:
- Adds the job to your dispatch calendar
- Texts Sarah the confirmation with date, time, and crew info
- Texts the crew their job details
- Schedules a 48-hour reminder and a morning-of reminder
See: How to Book a Move
Step 7: Move day
The crew arrives. They use the MoveRight crew app on their phones — even if there’s no signal, it works offline. They check the job details, complete the move, and get Sarah’s signature on the job record.
Step 8: Invoice and payment
After the move, you open Sarah’s job record and click Create Invoice. MoveRight pre-fills:
- All line items from the signed estimate
- Any extra time or charges the crew noted
- Deposit applied: -$150
You review the invoice and click Send Invoice. Sarah gets an SMS and email with a payment link. She pays by card, and MoveRight records it automatically.
Done. One job, start to finish, all in MoveRight.
