The Live Map and Job Tracking

Watch your crews and jobs in real time — see who's en route, who's on-site, and who's falling behind.

The live map shows you where your crews are and what job status they’re in — all in real time. It’s your best tool for catching problems early and keeping customers informed.

What this does

The live map displays crew locations on a map alongside job status markers. You can see at a glance whether crews are on schedule, running late, or finished.

Who uses this

Dispatchers — you monitor the map throughout the day. Owners — you check in when you want a quick pulse on the day.

Before you start

  • Crews are using the MoveRight crew app on their phones (this is how location data is captured)
  • You know how to use the dispatch board: The Drag-and-Drop Dispatch Board

Opening the live map

Go to Dispatch → Live Map in MoveRight. You see:

  • A map view of your service area with pins for each active job
  • Crew location dots showing real-time GPS positions (if the crew app is active)
  • Job status indicators — color-coded by stage:
ColorStatus
BlueEn Route
GreenArrived / In Progress
YellowRunning behind schedule
RedIssue flagged (customer complaint, crew problem)
GrayCompleted

What you can do

Monitor progress

Click any job pin to see:

  • Customer name and address
  • Assigned crew
  • Estimated completion time vs. actual elapsed time
  • Communication log (texts between dispatch and crew)

Update customers

When a customer calls asking “Where’s the crew?” you check the map and give them a real answer: “Your crew is 10 minutes out — they’re at the gas station on Elm Street heading your way.”

Spot problems

If a job has been “In Progress” for 2 hours longer than estimated, that’s a yellow flag. Call the crew lead: “Hey, how’s it going? Are you running into something, or just a bigger job than expected?”

Proactive catches prevent customer complaints.

Re-route crews

If a job finishes early and another job nearby is running behind, you can call the crew lead and ask them to swing by to help. You update the assignments in MoveRight afterward.

Limitations

  • Crew must have the app open — location tracking depends on the crew using the MoveRight app. If they close it or turn off location services, you won’t see them.
  • Battery matters — GPS drains battery. Remind crews to keep their phones charged.
  • Updates aren’t instant — location refreshes every 1-2 minutes, not second-by-second. This is normal.

Common questions

Do customers see the live map? No. This is an internal tool. Customers see their job confirmation and status updates that you send them, but they don’t track crews on a map.

What if a crew member doesn’t want to be tracked? Location tracking is for crew management and customer service, not surveillance. If there’s pushback, explain the business purpose: it helps dispatch send help when needed, and it lets you give customers accurate ETAs instead of guessing.

Can I see yesterday’s map? The live map shows today’s jobs. For historical data, use the Operations Report. See: Operations Report
