Auto Crew Notifications

MoveRight texts your crew their job details automatically. Learn what gets sent, when, and how to customize the message.

When you book a move in MoveRight, your crew gets a text message with everything they need for the job — customer name, address, arrival time, and special instructions. No phone calls, no group texts, no “what time was that job again?” This guide covers what gets sent and how to customize it.

What this does

Auto crew notifications are text messages sent from MoveRight to each crew member assigned to a job. They include job details and are sent at key moments.

Who uses this

Dispatchers — you send the notifications and verify they went out. Owners — you configure what the messages say.

When notifications are sent

MoveRight sends crew notifications at these moments:

TriggerWhat happens
Job is bookedCrew receives initial job assignment text
Job is rescheduledCrew receives updated date/time text
Crew assignment changesNew crew member receives assignment text
Morning-of (6-7 AM)Crew receives a reminder with job details
Manual sendDispatcher clicks “Send Crew Notifications” to resend

What the text includes

A default crew notification includes:

  • Customer name
  • Move date and arrival time
  • Origin address
  • Destination address
  • Truck assignment
  • Special instructions (from the access notes field)
  • Specialty items (piano, safe, etc.)

Example:

Job Assignment — May 3, 7:30 AM Customer: Sarah Johnson From: 123 Oak St, Chicago, IL To: 456 Maple Ave, Naperville, IL Truck: Truck 2 Notes: Condo has 2 flights of stairs. East side parking. Special: 1 upright piano

Customizing the message

You can customize the crew notification template in Settings → Notifications → Crew Templates.

Options:

  • Add company name — “MoveRight dispatch for [Company Name]”
  • Add crew lead highlight — show who the crew lead is for the job
  • Add customer phone number — so the crew can call if they get lost
  • Custom footer — “Call dispatch at [number] with issues”

Keep it concise. Crew members read these on their phones between jobs. Long messages get skimmed.

Sending notifications manually

After the morning routine, you can resend all crew notifications for the day:

  1. Open the dispatch board
  2. Click Send All Crew Notifications
  3. MoveRight sends a text to every crew member assigned to today’s jobs

You can also send to an individual crew member by clicking the notify button on their assignment row.

Verifying delivery

MoveRight shows the delivery status for each crew notification:

  • Sent — message was delivered to the carrier
  • Delivered — carrier confirmed delivery to the phone
  • Failed — bad number or carrier issue

If a notification fails, call the crew member directly. Don’t assume they saw the text.

Common questions

Can crew members reply to the text? No — the notification comes from a MoveRight system number. Crew members should call the dispatch line or their crew lead if they have questions.

What if a crew member doesn’t have a phone number on file? MoveRight will skip them. Make sure every crew member in the system has a valid mobile number. Check the crew management page for anyone missing a number.

Should I still text the crew group chat? No. The whole point of auto notifications is to eliminate the group chat chaos. If your crew is used to a group chat, transition them: “Starting Monday, all job details come through MoveRight texts. No more group chat for assignments.”
