This is a detailed walkthrough of every setting in your MoveRight company profile. Some of these you set once and forget; others you’ll tweak as your business grows. All of them affect how MoveRight works for you.
What this covers
A room-by-room walkthrough of Settings → Company in MoveRight.
Who uses this
Owners — you configure this. Nobody else should have access to company settings.
Business information
Go to Settings → Company → Business Info.
| Field | What to enter | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Company name | Your legal or DBA name | Appears on estimates, invoices, and customer communications |
| DBA (if different) | Your “doing business as” name | If you operate under a different name than your legal entity |
| Address | Your office / warehouse address | Used for tax calculations and crew dispatch |
| Phone number | Main business line | Shown on customer-facing documents |
| Main business email | For customer replies and system notifications | |
| Website | Your website URL | Linked from estimates and review requests |
| Tax ID / EIN | Your employer identification number | Required for tax compliance |
Branding
Go to Settings → Company → Branding.
| Field | What to enter | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Company logo | Upload your logo (PNG, SVG preferred) | Appears on estimates, invoices, and the customer portal |
| Primary color | Your brand hex color | Tints the customer-facing estimate and invoice pages |
| Secondary color | Accent color | Used for buttons and highlights |
| Email header | Optional custom header image | Top of customer emails |
| Email footer | Company name, address, license # | Legal requirement in most states |
Tip: Use a transparent PNG logo. It looks better on both light and dark backgrounds.
Service area
Go to Settings → Company → Service Area.
| Field | What to enter | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Service radius | Miles from your office | Determines which zip codes your lead form accepts |
| Service states | States you operate in | Limits lead intake and affects tax calculations |
| Excluded zip codes | Areas you don’t serve | Prevents leads from areas you can’t reach |
| Long-distance toggle | On/off | Enables weight/tariff pricing for long-distance |
The service area affects your lead form — customers outside your radius get a “Sorry, we don’t serve your area” message instead of creating a lead you have to reject.
Default terms
Go to Settings → Company → Default Terms.
| Field | What to enter | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Payment terms | ”Due upon receipt” or “Net 30” | Controls when payments are considered overdue |
| Cancellation policy | Your refund policy text | Included in every estimate — customers see before signing |
| Estimate expiration | ”Valid for 30 days” | After this, the customer needs a new quote |
| Valuation coverage | Basic vs. full value protection | Legal requirement — explains liability for damaged items |
| Hourly rate disclaimer | ”Actual time may vary” | Protects you on hourly jobs |
These terms appear on every estimate and invoice. Get them right once, and they protect every job.
Notification preferences
Go to Settings → Company → Notifications.
| Setting | What it controls |
|---|---|
| New lead alert | Who gets notified when a lead comes in |
| Signed estimate alert | Who gets notified when a customer signs |
| Payment received alert | Who gets notified when a payment is recorded |
| Cancellation alert | Who gets notified when a customer cancels |
| Review received alert | Who gets notified when a customer leaves a review |
Set these for the people who need to act on each event. The owner doesn’t need every new lead alert — that’s the sales agent’s job. But the owner should see cancellations and reviews.
Common questions
Can I change settings after I’ve already sent estimates? Yes. New settings apply to future estimates only. Previously sent estimates keep the settings they were created with.
What if I have multiple locations? Each MoveRight account corresponds to one business. If you have multiple locations under one business, use the service area settings. If they’re separate businesses, each needs its own MoveRight account.
How often should I review my settings? Quarterly. Rate changes, new service areas, new team members — all of these affect your settings. Put a reminder on your calendar.
