The NSC calculator is built for movers operating in North and South Carolina, where elevator type drives a meaningful chunk of the pricing logic.
It supports three elevator types — bookable, freight, and not-bookable — each with a per-type, per-floor efficiency modifier. A bookable elevator on the 12th floor does not eat the same crew time as a not-bookable elevator on the 3rd floor. The calculator accounts for that. Crew size is an input, so the modifier scales with the crew you’re actually sending.
This replaces the old flat elevator discount, which applied the same reduction to every elevator job regardless of type or floor. That discount was simple and wrong. The per-type-per-floor modifier is more work to set up, but it produces quotes that reflect the job.
Use NSC when you’re pricing a move in the Carolinas and elevator type is a material cost driver.
3. Vancouver Calculator
The Vancouver calculator is built for movers in the Vancouver market, where weight-based pricing against a product catalog is the norm.
Weight sourcing is the first difference. You can pull weight four ways: manual entry, inventory-based, storage profile, or historical data from past jobs. No more re-keying weights from a separate inventory sheet.
The second difference is automatic crew sizing. Enter the weight and the job parameters, and the calculator recommends a crew size based on your configured rules. You can override, but the starting point is sensible.
